Queen City Railroad Construction, Inc. of Knoxville, Tennessee Receives 2015 Category II Silver Level Contractor Safety Award from the NRC

KNOXVILLE, Tennessee – January, 2016

In early January, Queen City Railroad Construction, Inc. was formally announced as a winner of the 2015 Category II Silver Level Contractor Safety Award by the National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC) at the 2016 NRC Conference. The NRC Contractor Safety Awards are presented to NRC Members that demonstrate a documented commitment to industry regulations and policies, practice safe operations and exhibit strong workplace safety programs. They are awarded in four categories, which are based on the number of employees during the eligibility time period.

The 2015 award reflects work performed during the time period of January 1, 2015 through September 30, 2015. During this time, Queen City completed 10 major railroad construction projects and began 7 projects. Queen City has been a NRC Member since 2000 and has received 4 Gold and 4 Silver NRC Contractor Safety Awards to date.
