Caney Fork & Western Railroad Rehabilitation Project

McMinnville , TN

Queen City provided construction services for the rehabilitation of the Caney Fork & Western Railroad’s mainline. This included the installation of more than 22,200 LF of 115# new rail and related OTM, more than 4,000 LF of 100# relay rail and related OTM, changing out more than 19,800 timber crossties and switch ties, the surfacing and tamping of more than 79,000 ft of track, ditching, as well as furnishing new grade crossing communication system components.

As part of this contract, Queen City rehabilitated a major 4 lane State highway grade crossing during a 72-hour shutdown. Queen City performed this work under daily train traffic to accommodate existing operations. The rehabilitation work enhanced interchanges with the connecting railroad and will create additional capacities to allow for future growth to an existing Caney Fork customer.
