AgriBusiness Rail Receiving Yard Project

Southern Region of the U.S.

Queen City provided rail construction services for a major AgriBusiness rail receiving project. The project required connections into existing rail lines as well as moving of existing switches to allow for a new rail pit that would be installed at a later date. Major work items included the construction of 6,975 TF of jointed rail, 3 No. 10 turnouts, 1 No. 10 crossover, the removal of 900 TF of existing track and the relocation of 4 No. 8 turnouts.

Queen City managed all aspects of the rail track construction portion of the project from start to finish; including project planning, schedule and budget management, material procurement, construction management, safety and quality management and final inspection and project close-out. Queen City’s comprehensive approach to managing the project in the pre-construction phase, through construction and into post-construction ensured that the project was delivered on time, within budget and in accordance with design/build specifications. The construction of the new rail receiving yard allows for greater capacity and will allow for future growth.
